Ever wanted to download a video from youtube, or some other random site?
Well, I will tell you how, and it's pretty simple.

Before we get going here, you'll need Firefox (the web browser). If you don't have it, you should seriously consider getting it. It is by far the best web browser ever made. Ever. End of story.
You can get it here:
Download Here: Go Here and click the "Free Download" button.
Visit the Site: Mozilla.org
Install it, Open it, and THEN follow the steps below...
Repeat: you MUST use Firefox to do this.

1: Download "Download Helper"
Instant Download: Click Here
If you choose the instant download I provided, Firefox may say "Firefox prevented this site (revolutionxbox.forumotion.com) from asking you to install software on your computer." Don't be alarmed, it is because we aren't the official Firefox Add-Ons supplier, you just hit "Allow" on the right of that tab. Or, if you still feel uncomfortable, try the other option.
Alternatively, go to their website, DownloadHelper.net, hit the "install" tab, and hit "Add to Firefox".

2: Restart Firefox. A new icon should appear next to your URL. It looks like this...

If it is not there, don't fret, click, "Tools>Add-Ons>Extensions>DownloadHelper>Options>General>Appearance"
Make sure that under Appearance, "Icon Animation" and "Show in Status Bar" are checked. Then restart Firefox, problem fixed.

3: Go to youtube and choose a video. As an example, I am shamelessly going to use my own.

4: As soon as the video starts playing, the DownloadHelper icon should change from grayscale to color and begin spinning. It looks like this...

5: Click the down arrow next to the spinning circles and you will see a list. Because youtube has multiple formats, it is a larger list. Other sites don't have as many. You also might need to try a few before you get a good, working one. Just click your choice and it will beginning downloading to your Firefox default download folder.

Pro Tip: The most recent video appears on the bottom of the list.
Pro Tip: To change your default download folder go "Tools>Options>Main", and next to "Save files to" you can browse for your own default download location, such as your desktop.

6: Now you should have your downloaded video. It is most likely in FLV format.
To play it in FLV, download the FLV Player and install it.
You can find it: Here
Or you can convert it.
You can learn how to convert videos using my tutorial: How to Convert Videos

That about covers it!

Cheers!
